About Woodstock, NH

Woodstock has gone through more names than most New Hampshire towns. Governor Benning Wentworth chartered it as Peeling in 1763; the land was regranted as Fairfield in 1771, then reverted to Peeling in 1773. By the 1830s, residents had grown tired of the jokes that came with the name — one local minister is said to have preached an entire afternoon urging the town to "peel off this inappropriate appellation" — and in 1840 it was renamed Woodstock, after the English town of Blenheim Palace fame. The mountains that gave the town its identity stayed largely undeveloped until the Jackman brothers stumbled into a hidden cave while fishing in 1852, discovering what became Lost River Gorge; the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests bought the gorge in 1912 to save it from logging, and it's been a protected public attraction ever since — a role the town has played for the White Mountains for well over a century.

What Woodstock, NH buyers and renters should know

A good share of what we deliver in Woodstock is seasonal — vacation home owners needing storage during renovations or between seasons, and camp owners securing gear over the winter. We also handle standard storage for the businesses and year-round residents in the village.

Woodstock is one of our farther deliveries, near the outer edge of where we regularly run, but still within easy reach for anything in stock.
