Shipping containers in Barnet, VT

Trapp Rentals and Storage is based 26 miles away in Piermont, NH, and delivers new and used shipping containers directly to Barnet, VT — no third-party carriers, ever.

Barnet is home to Karmê Chöling, a 717-acre Buddhist meditation retreat center founded in 1970 that was the first teaching seat in North America for Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, one of the figures most responsible for bringing Buddhist practice to the West — it still runs retreats, workshops, and a working organic garden today, and draws visitors from well beyond Vermont. The rest of the town is Scottish farm country: five small villages strung along the Passumpsic and Connecticut Rivers, first settled in the 1770s.

About Barnet, VT

Barnet was chartered in 1763 — the first town established in what's now the Northeast Kingdom — and settled by Scottish farmers starting in 1774, the same wave that gave neighboring Ryegate its character. One of those early settlers, Colonel Alexander Harvey, went on to represent Barnet at the 1777 conventions that declared Vermont's independence and drafted its first constitution, lending his name to Harvey's Lake in the process.

What Barnet, VT buyers and renters should know

With Barnet spread across five distinct villages, what we deliver here varies by which one you're in — riverside lots near the old mill villages, hill farms further back from Route 5, or general homeowner storage in between, including properties near Karmê Chöling. We'll always confirm the exact village and route before delivery day.

Barnet runs further from our Piermont yard than our closest towns, so allow a bit of extra lead time on scheduling — but it's still well within reach for anything in stock.
