Shipping containers in Groton, VT

Trapp Rentals and Storage is based 22 miles away in Piermont, NH, and delivers new and used shipping containers directly to Groton, VT — no third-party carriers, ever.

Groton sits inside one of Vermont's largest blocks of protected land — the 26,000-plus acre Groton State Forest, established in 1919 and shaped in large part by Civilian Conservation Corps crews who built its roads, campgrounds, and Ricker Pond State Park during the Depression. Outside the forest boundary, it's still a small, quiet hill town, much as it's been since Captain Edmund Morse built the area's first sawmill here in 1783.

About Groton, VT

Captain Edmund Morse, one of Groton's first settlers, built a sawmill and gristmill in 1783 on the outlet of what's now called Ricker Pond — a modest start for a town that would eventually give most of its land over to conservation. The Vermont legislature established Groton State Forest in 1919, and by the 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps crews were hard at work developing it: one company built the first road through the forest, a single track completed in under a year and later widened into what's now Route 232, while another developed Ricker Pond into a proper state park with picnic shelters and a ranger's cabin. Nearly a century later, the CCC's fingerprints are still all over the forest that makes up most of the town.

What Groton, VT buyers and renters should know

Groton is mostly forest and small rural properties, so what we deliver here tends to be equipment or general storage for homes and small farms tucked around the edges of the state land. We'll always confirm road access in advance given how rural the town is.

Groton runs further from our yard than our closest deliveries, so allow a bit more lead time on scheduling — but it's still well within reach for anything in stock.
